Pineapple Peasant Top Round 20: Split for Sleeves: Place those markers!
The main difference between the magazine version and my Raverly version is that the magazine joins at the BASE of the stitches at the markers. My Ravelry version joins at the TOP of the stitches at the markers.
I would suggest you read the previous post anyway, it will help you visualize what's going on.
Read the pattern and count carefully and get those stitch markers in place!
First, you will place a stitch marker in the center of the 6th shell;
then either the 11th, 12th, or 13th shells, depending on what size you are making;
and then the 16th, 17th, or 18th shells, again depending on what size you are making.
Then you will just crochet until you get to the first marked shell;
In that marked shell, a "half-shell" is made;
with the ch-2 space in the center of this shell now instead being replaced by the joining process back to the first shell;
then the other half of the shell is made.
That same process will be repeated for the next sleeve opening:
You'll crochet past the third stitch marker;
then when you reach the 4th marker another "half-shell" is made;
and then the joining back to the third marker;
and the other half of the shell.
