As this year winds down to the end and a new one gets ready to start up, I look back on the steps little Heritage Heartcraft has taken over this past year. First and most importantly, she found her NAME! What a lovely thing it is to finally find the name that sings to you and affirms in every way its perfect fit! Second, she has grown in recognition and web presence. There has been a lot of hard work put in the the website over this year, and plenty more to come. But it is already seeing quite a bit of traffic which is making all that effort well worth it. Being associated with the Mad Mad Makers this past year has also been an amazing experience and I am looking forward to continuing on with this awesome network! Third, she has learned so much and been inspired by all of YOU! Quite a few of you who are fans of my little page on Facebook are amazing designers and creators and I am beyond blessed to be able to keep company with you all. There are a handful of fans that I look for your likes and comments on my posts- I just love how regularly you drop in to visit and believe me, that simple act of clicking the like button just means the world to me! Fourth, Heritage Heartcraft has plans for the coming year: part of which is to even more broadly incorporate the 'heritage' aspect with blog posts focusing on my own cultural and crafty background and vintage craft forms and tools, methods, and patterns. I'd LOVE your help with that part too: if you have any favorite 'vintage' handcrafted items, or keep alive a craft form from days gone by with your own special twist to it, I'd be honored to feature YOU in one of my blog posts next year! Leave a comment here with your email address or send me a message by email at [email protected] and let's start a conversation about your own heritage heartcraft! love and prayers for blessings in the New Year,
Cara Louise

Any who have been visiting my Facebook page for any length of time discovers that I am pretty much a tea aficionado. I love tea, especially when the weather turns cold and wintery. It is snowing rightly good here today, and I've got my tea mug close at hand. I have an entire drawer full of different tea flavors. And that's not even all of them~ the one that's in my cup today is called Lady Grey, mmm, little bit of cream and sugar, very nice. There is not much better, in my opinion, than to have a cup of steamy, fragrant, liquid comfort nearby while crocheting or taking some much needed 'quiet time'! Of course now, I can't forget about actually crocheting some tea items, can I?! Tea To Go is a perfect little pattern for me! This way I can have my own favorite flavor of tea ready no matter where I go. Find this in the Crochet World Magazine April 2013 issue. Mother's Day Tea Cup by Marjorie Jones is a delightful little piece! This has so many possibilities: turn it into a pincushion, put a small glass votive candle holder inside it, perhaps even a tiny potted plant! One of my favorite thread crochet designers, Cylinda Mathews has this great looking Holly Candle Tea Set Doily at her shop Crochet Memories. Love the look of the plaid going on here! And now, let's not forget those homely cups from the local coffee shop. The husband's cup might be just fine with coffee in it and left bare, but mine of course has tea in it, and definitely needs to be dressed for the occassion! This Crochet Thread Cup Cozy fits the bill. What's in your cup? I would love to hear from you about your favorite winter-time beverage, or see photos of your tea themed crochet items!
